Belly button piercings are pierced through the top of the navel, with one end of the bar sitting inside the navel. Belly button piercings are also known as ‘belly piercings’, ‘belly rings’ and ‘navel piercings’.
Bananabells or belly bars are worn in most belly button piercings but BCRs and circular barbells can also be worn. Belly bars are curved barbells, often with a larger bottom ball that sits in the navel. Despite its popularity, belly button piercings require extra care to ensure good healing. It’s recommended to wear low-slung trousers and airing the piercing frequently during healing. Navel piercing healing times can vary between individuals – some people heal in 8 weeks, others can take much longer.
